Large and distinctive eye with a vertical elongated pupil and white blotches (Ref. 48635).

Description: Characterized by grey color grading to whitish on ventral head and belly; bluish hue on dorsal and anal fins; 10 caudal rays; depth of body at gill opening about 16-18 in TL; cleft of mouth reaching below middle of eye; origin of dorsal fin above gill opening; anus anterior to middle of body; small jaw teeth, villiform in 2-3 rows anteriorly, tapering to single row at rear of jaw; several rows of intermaxillary teeth anteriorly, tapering to single row posteriorly (Ref. 90102).
