Gill slit (one-third of HL) extends ventrally in front of nine pectoral rays; pectoral fin very deeply notched, with two rudimentary rays; basal cartilaginous lamina with 4 radials, rounded R1 and R2 and horseshoe-shaped R3 and R4, and with two interradial foramina; hypural plate with a suture between the upper and lower hypurals (Ref. 36325).
