Diagnosis

Diagnosis: mouth strongly curved; barbels absent; last unbranched dorsal fin ray strongly ossified and inflexible; pelvic fin insertion below middle of dorsal fin; 26-29 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).

Description: body depth 28.3-38.9% SL; head length 20.7-26.2% SL; no papillae around mouth but usually with tubercles on snout; D: III,9-10; A: III,5; scale formula: 4.5-5.5/26-29/-; 2.5-3.5; 12; 3.5 scales from lateral line to anal fin origin (Ref. 81639).

Coloration: alcohol-preserved specimens light brown dorsally, paler ventrally (Ref. 81639).
