Definition of Term

reproductive load
(English) The ratio Lm/Linf, i.e., the ratio between the average length at first maturity and the maximum length reached in a population, usually ranging between 0.4 and 0.7, with higher values being characteristic for smaller fishes. (See also: maximum length, reproduction, spawning)
