Present in the continental shelf waters off the northeastern United States (Ref. 37512). Known from South Carolina to Davis and Baffin Bay (Ref. 119696). Commercial harvest is currently restricted due to declining abundances (Ref. 117245). Also Ref. 7251, 117245.
