Occurs in the Aleutian Is., the Alaskan Peninula, Kodiak I. and the northern region (Ref. 27547). It appears that all arctic charr are of the freshwater, lake-dwelling type (Ref. 27547). Important sport fish in the Wood River Lakes (Ref. 27547). Also Ref. 2850, 5723, 6876, 7419, 28503, 86798, 96339, 119194.
