Landlocked populations are found in Washington, Oregon, and California (Ref. 86798).Kokanee occurs naturally in Washington and Oregon (Ref. 5723); transplanted into Maine, California, Montana, Colorado, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, North Dakota, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming (Ref. 1998). Common in the north but rare south of Columbia River drainage (Ref. 86798). Also Ref. 2850, 9988, 95146. Status of threat: 1). Cultus Lake and Snake River, Idaho populations: endangered. Criteria: 1,2,3,4,5; 2). Ozette Lake and tributaries population: threatened. Criteria: 1,2,3,4,5 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264).
