Comments

Rivers of the northern Adriatic, northwards from the Marches, and including the Po basin and Venezia, as well as the Dalmatian rivers Zrmanje and Krka. Accidentally introduced into the Amaseno and Magra rivers of western Italy. Has competed with the endemic P. nigricans in central Italy and its introduction to the area appears to have caused the progressive decline and local extinction of the species. Recorded from the Ombrone river (Ref. 45688). Also Ref. 13696, 27118, 43646, 92840, 94493.

Status of threat: Least concern (Ref. 119201).
