Short description
Dorsal spines (total): 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16 - 17; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 17. Back and adjacent dorsal fin purple; rest of the body and fins lemon yellow. Eye with thin purple ring around it.
Biology
    Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)
This rare species is a secretive dweller of crevices and clefts in caves of outer reef drop-offs (Ref. 1602). Natural diet unknown; forms harems of 3-7 individuals. Almost never exported through the aquarium trade (Ref. 48391).
