Distribution
Distribution poorly defined; type locality is the Rubicon River, situated in mountainous terrain on the inland side (Murray River drainage) of the Great Dividing Range, some 75 kilometers northeast of Melbourne, Victoria; also near Woods Point, Victoria.

Biology
    Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)
Inhabits clear, flowing streams with gravel or boulder bottoms in mountainous terrain above the winter snowline. Usually prefers gently flowing pools adjacent to faster flowing sections. A solitary species, sometimes groups of up to five individuals are seen. Feeds on benthic and drifting invertebrates (Ref. 44894). Spawns from late winter to early spring. Females release about 600 demersal, adhesive eggs among rocks on the bottom.
