Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 11-12; Rayons mous anaux: 19 - 21; Vertèbres: 38 - 39. This species is distinguished by having these characters: gill rakers 31-35 + 41-46 = 72-82; a short upper jaw, reaching to just before or behind anterior margin of preopercle (Ref. 83462).
