Spine dorsali (totale): 0; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 9-10; Spine anali 0; Raggi anali molli: 15 - 16; Vertebre: 42 - 43. Diagnosis: Distinguished from its congeners by an elevated number of pored lateral-line scales (65-68 vs. 60 or fewer); a lower anal-fin ray count (iii,12-13 vs. iii,15); a large terminal black spot at the caudal-fin base (vs. absence); presence of vertical barring on the flanks (vs. none); unique configuration of lateral barring, consisting of a dominant row of 15-17 short ovoid bars or spots passing a little above mid-body level, and a secondary row of somewhat less distinct ovoid spots or bars positioned over the lateral line; the 2 rows separate in adults, merged in juveniles (Ref. 57537).

Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00589 (0.00282 - 0.01229), b=3.02 (2.84 - 3.20), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.3   ±0.4 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Alto, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione meno di 15 mesi (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
