Benthopelagic; non-migratory; freshwater

Climate / Range

Temperate; 43°N - 40°N, 18°E - 21°E

Europe: Croatia and Montenegro to eastern Albania (mostly in Adriatic Sea drainages) (Ref. 3881). Now restricted to a 300 m long stream stretch in Krka (Croatia) (if not already extirpated). A single recent record (2004) from Zeta (Montenegro). Still frequent in Neretva drainage, especially in Buna and uppermost Jardo, Vrljika and Zrnovnica streams. (Ref. 59043).
