পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 0; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 11; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 26 - 30; কশেরুকা : 31 - 33. Males with a broad, convex anal-fin lobe formed by the 12-14 anteriormost rays, which are more elongated and thickened than the remaining rays; pelvic bones elongated, protruding through the body wall in some of the largest specimens; dorsal and pelvic fins not elongated in mature males; caudal peduncle blotch asymmetric and not as dark in males; all dentary teeth cusps in a straight line and 3 teeth in the maxilla (Ref. 42938).
