Espinhos dorsais (total): 7; Raios dorsais moles (total): 9; Espinhos anais 1; Raios anais moles: 8 - 9. Total of more than 10 papillae in the posterior interorbital row, plain dark coloration with no light bars on head or body, no elongate spines or dark spots or blotches on the first dorsal fin, 16-17 pectoral fin rays. Longitudinal row of papillae on the cheek extending posterior to the fifth transverse cheek row, which ends just above it.
Collected from mud bottoms.
