Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 71-79; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 55 - 61; Ryggkotor: 39 - 40. This species is distinguished by the following characters: ; D 71-79; A 55-61; small eyes (1.5-2.3%SL); rounded snout, no cirri; cheeks with scales; with upper preopercular pore; outer pseudoclasper broad-based, simple flap-shaped, about twice as large as the inner one which is very short and its margin almost straight from short anterior pointed lobe to posterior lobe; very wide isthmus between pseudoclaspers; otolith length to height 2.2-2.3, with regular dorsal rim; otolith length to sulcus length 1.6, ostium length to cauda length about 3.5-4.0; vertebrae 10-11 + 29-30 = 39-40 (Ref. 81230).
