Short description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 8. Convex dorsal profile. Anterior barbel reaching or extending past anterior border; posterior barbel long, reaching or extending past posterior half of eye. 1st few scales of lateral line perforated but some individuals may have almost complete lateral lines. Lateral lines dipping below dorsal fin with deeper scales. 3 rudimentary gill rakers on 1st branchial arch. Light sides with narrow band of different melanophores extending from opercle to caudal peduncle. Black vertical bar on snout. Anterior border of dorsal pigmented.
