Short description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 16 - 18. Pointed symmetrical caudal lakes. Dorsal: 3 simple and 8 branched rays. Anal: 3 simple and 13-15 branched rays. Silvery with gray green back. 8-10 vertical dark bands on sides, shorter in posterior part of body. Anal, dorsal and caudal tainted with red.

    Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)
Affinities: maybe sympatric with R. senegalensis and R. steindachneri and has always been mistaken for R. senegalensis, which is the reason for it not being discovered. Maximum TL was recorded at 12.5 cm (Ref. 2801).
