背的软条 (总数): 11; 臀鳍软条: 17. Diagnosis: distance from snout to dorsal-fin base 43-55% of SL; body depth 6.7-7.0x and head length 4.6-4.7x SL; eye diameter 3.1-3.3x head length; scale formula 8.5-9.5/45-46/4.5; 14 scales around caudal peduncle; 8 dorsal-fin branched rays; 14 anal-fin branched rays; 9 dark vertical bars on sides (Ref. 2940, 81282).
圆头的吻, 背面轮廓些微地倾向。 鼻骨开口垂直地排列。 在第一个鳃弓上的小的鳃耙。 深色的头部 , 吻而且背面有 9个侧部垂直的条纹: 第一的 4 以 losange 形式, 另一个更多的矿石比较少的广口瓶, 最后的横带减低尾鳍的基底。 最长鳍条背部的颜色较深与分支条被线有黑色的斑点。 背部的: 3 单一的与 8个分支条。 肛门的: 3 单一的与 14个分支条。
Affinities: Engraulicypris Boulenger, 1911 (East African relative). Raiamas. most elongated body of Leptocypris group.
