Short description
Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 9 - 10. Peculiar in having only one fine scale on each side of the base of the anal fin. Well developed parietal fontanel. Sexual dimorphism on anal fins : males with rounded anal while females with pointed anal fin; males with translucid yellow body, about a dozen brown spots, posterior and lobes of caudal tinted with violet, violet transverse stripe on anal and pelvic fins, melanophores on back; females without spots melanophores concentrated on base of anal, on anterior rays of anal and on the lobes of the caudal.
