Short description
Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 13 - 17. Lateral may or may not be complete with 9-30 perforated scales. Big eyes. Sexual dimorphism very pronounced in anal fins of male adults. Gill rakers on first ceratobranch. Silvery body, glossy lateral stripe. Dorsal tip blackened. Anal base lined with large area of melanophores.
