Short description
Dorsal spines (total): 8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 7. Medium-sized fish of moderately elongate bodies. Head small; mouth small and slightly oblique; a pair of barbels under the chin. Dorsal fins with 2 to 3 olive bars, and black or dark brown tips; anal, pelvic, and pectoral fins pale; caudal fin plain dull yellow, its hind margin dusky, its lower lobe tipped white. Two orange-yellow bands extend from the head to the caudal peduncle.
