Bifurcated canals of the lateral line scales; 52 scale rows between the lateral line and base of the dorsal fin; and 31-35 scale rows between the lateral line and the base of the anal fin (Ref. 52916).

Inhabits clear and black-water rivers (Ref. 52916). Feeds on fishes (Ref. 598).
