Short description

Eyes on the right side; rudimentary pectoral fins (Ref. 27732).

Found in large rivers on sandy to muddy bottom (Ref. 43281). Occurs along the bottom in flowing waters of large and medium-sized rivers. Feeds mainly on benthic invertebrates. Marketed fresh in mixed catches (Ref. 12693).
