পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 11; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 8. Processus dentiformis present; 8+7 branched caudal rays; 7 1/2 branched dorsal rays; males with a suborbital flap; 35 pores along lateral line which reaches pelvic fin origin; no axillary pelvic lobe (Ref. 39226).

Inhabits shallow, swift, clear streams with pebbly bottom (Ref. 41236).
