Short description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 13 - 14; Anal soft rays: 8 - 9. Lower lips well developed, forming round chin lobe, sometimes rubber-lipped. Dorsal fin concave with longest ray. 1st branched ray. Last simple ray slightly ossified on base but does not form strong spines. Ossified part 50-70% head length. May grow to bigger lengths. D: 4 simple, 9-10 branched. Anal: 3 simple, 5-6 branched.
