Short description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal soft rays: 8. Pointed head, slightly convex dorsal profile. Barbels unequal: reaching past posterior eye border in big individuals. In smaller ones, anterior reaches only to posterior half of eye. Lateral line complete, slightly dipping under the dorsal fin. Black longitudinal branch from snout to base of caudal fin. Scales below lateral line not pigmented. Generally, with pigments forming short bands. Perpendicular to the longitudinal band. Dorsal and anal with 3 simple rays.
