Short description

Dorsal spines (total): 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 5. Presence of black band and a scarlet stripe from snout to mid-caudal; and an oblique black caudal fin band (Ref. 74592).

Inhabits fast flowing hill streams (Ref. 41236). A herbivorous (Ref. 74596) and a gregarious fish that inhabits rocky pools with thick riparian vegetation (Ref. 74592).
