Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt): 12 - 21; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 6-9; Afterflossenstacheln 0; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 23 - 27. Snout long, tubular. Lower jaw projecting forward beyond upper one. No barbel on lower jaw. A short barbel is present on the posterior end of the upper jaw. Branchial membranes free from isthmus.
Minimum depth reported at 15 m (Ref. 56557).
