পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 4 - 6; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 6-8; পায়ূ কাঁটা 1; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 9 - 12

Inhabits small creeks, swampy marshes, heavily shaded rainforest streams, lily lagoons and backwaters adjacent to major water courses. Usually found in Pandanus-lined creeks with muddy bottoms. Aggregations are encountered in areas with abundant vegetation and submerged log debris (Ref. 44894). Occurs at temperatures and pH ranging from 23°-30° C and 5.2-6.7 respectively.
