Biology
    Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)
Has been recorded at a temperature of 38.0 °C (Ref. 2). Filamentous green algae, which were digested, and also unicellular and four-celled algae were found in the gut. The latter were apparently not digested and were probably blue-green algae which formed a carpet on the floor of the spring. Portions of insect cuticle were also present in the gut and the fishes were seen to consume dead insects thrown on the water (Ref. 2).
