Short description
Dorsal spines (total): 5 - 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 11; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 12 - 14. Body with a thin, silvery midlateral band. The band have very fine, blue-black edge above. Scales above the band with fine melanophores; row of scales below with small black dot on each. Fins mostly uniformly yellowish, pectorals with dusky patch at the base. Anteriormost point of the head formed by the protruding lower jaw. Mouth large and oblique. Gill rakers long and slender. Scales deciduous on head. Preserved specimens uniformly yellow green with thin silvery midlateral band.
