Etymology: Pseudolabrus: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, labrax = a fish, Dicentrarchus labrax (Ref. 45335); rubicundus: From the Latin 'psittacus' meaning parrot, referring to the local (Tasmanian) name for parrot fish (Ref. 12965).
