Short description
Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5 - 6. Anterior barbel short, about quarter eye diameter; posterior barbel also short, about half eye diameter.

    Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)
Inhabits shallow calm waters amongst vegetation, along the river edge (Ref. 13337). Ripe adults were caught undertaking upstream migration on a possible spawning run in mid summer after the first rise in water level (Ref. 13337).
