Western Central Pacific: Cape Ward Hunt, eastern Papua New Guinea and from Fergusson Island in the D'Entrecasteaux Group. Easily misidentified for Pseudomugil signifer (Ref. 9786).

Spine dorsali (totale): 4 - 5; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 7-9; Spine anali 0; Raggi anali molli: 12 - 13. Gill rakers in first lower, 14-15, gill arch less than half the diameter of pupil but longer than in other species of this genus.

Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Found in mangrove swamps and may provide food for young of commercially important species. Nothing is known of the biology of this species of which only two specimens are presently known (Ref. 9786).
