Short description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 74 - 75; Anal soft rays: 50 - 51. Body moderately deep (40-43% SL). Snout extended into a hook-like process projecting downwards in front of small, oblique mouth. Scales very small, rather firmly attached; ctenoid or cycloid on ocular side, mostly ctenoid on blind side. Pelvic fin rays on right side 12-14, left 3-4. Caudal fin rays 14 (Ref. 33839).
