Etymology: Luzonichthys: Taken from Luzon, an island in Philippines + greek, ichthys = fish (Ref. 45335). More on author: Randall.
Environment: milieu / climate zone / depth range / distribution range
Marine; reef-associated; depth range 15 - 205 m (Ref. 37816), usually 46 - 55 m (Ref. 37816). Tropical
Indo-Pacific: Maldives, Christmas Islands, New Britain, Marshalls, Hawaiian Islands, throughout Micronesia (Ref. 37816).

Max length : 5.5 cm TL male/unsexed; (Ref. 90102); common length : 4.4 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 37816)
Occur in large zooplankton feeding aggregations along steep outer reef slopes (Ref. 37816). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Postlarvae are caught with midwater trawl.
