Pigmentation: finely scattered on head and body, increasing slightly with length; slight increase in density toward tail, dorsally on peritoneum, and along ventral myosepta; occasionally a row dorsally along myosepta; denser on caudal streamer and caudal fin rays at base; fully developed streamer has a median stripe and nearly black border. Sequence of fin development: dorsal and anal, pelvics, caudal, pectorals.
