Definition of Term

hypoxia
(English) Deficiency of oxygen; low levels of dissolved oxygen in water (~< 3 ppm) that are extremely stressful to most aquatic life. Stress applied to fish when measuring, e.g., oxygen consumption. (See also: hypercapnia, oxygen consumption)
hypoxie
(French) Manque d'oxygène ; niveaux bas d'oxygène dissous dans l'eau (~ < 3 ppm) ce qui est extrêmement stressant pour la plupart des êtres aquatiques. Stress infligé au poisson quand il est étudié, par exemple, pour connaître sa consommation d'oxygène. (See also: hypercapnia, oxygen consumption)
hipóxia
