Environment:  demersal; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Tanganyika and only known from the type locality: Burton Bay in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 46829, 53528, 93927).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on sandy or muddy bottoms and feeds on insect larvae and crustaceans (Ref. 46829). Remnants of ostracods and shells have been found as well (Ref. 93927). Caught at a depth of 40 m (Ref. 93927), but average depth is about 10 m (Ref. 53528). Forms schools (Ref. 6770).
