Family:  Triacanthidae (Triplespines)
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 50 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Arabian Sea, Japan (stray), China (stray), South China Sea including Gulf of Thailand, and Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 20-24; Anal soft rays: 15-19. Spiny dorsal-fin membrane pale (Ref 9804).
Biology:  Inhabits sandy and muddy flats of coastal waters. Feeds on benthic invertebrates. Marketed fresh.
