Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 8; dH range: 5 - 20
Distribution:  Central America: Atlantic slope, from southern Mexico to Guatemala and Belize.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Prefers moderate to fast flowing waters of the lower and middle river valleys. Feeds on macro-invertebrates and small fishes.
