Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: lower Congo River basin downstream of Matadi, in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 82335). Report from Lac Mokonounou (Ngoko River, Dja drainage, middle Congo River basin) (Ref. 51193) needs confirmation.
Diagnosis:  Description: moderately deep-bodied; snout pointed; frontal profile straight; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 52307). Coloration: body medium brown; juveniles normally with several dark vertical bars on body; some dark maculae in soft portions of dorsal and anal fins and in caudal fin (Ref. 52307).
