Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 1440 m
Distribution:  Atlantic and Indian Ocean: widespread.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Distinguishing characteristics female (based on holotype): length of premaxillae 33% SL; long anterior premaxillary teeth: I-1: 3.8, II-1: 3.0, II-2: 6.5, II-3: 7.0, III-1: 1.5, III-2: 3.3, III-3: 4.3, IV-1: 1.4, IV-2: 2.4, V-1: 1.0, V-2: 3.4 mm; inner bulb with loosely attached curved denticle (Ref. 86949).
