Family:  Odacidae (Cales and weed-whitings)
Max. size:  18 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 18 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from Fisherman Islands, Western Australia to Portland, Victoria; including the Furneaux Group and the Tamar River Estuary in northern Tasmania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic species (Ref. 75154) which is common in soft bottom communities with seagrass.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 September 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
