Family:  Notosudidae (Waryfishes)
Max. size:  11 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 300 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: from about 40°N to the southern Caribbean Sea, including the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Northwest Atlantic: Canada (Ref. 5951). Western Indian and Western Pacific: in tropical and subtropical waters.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Mesopelagic species (Ref. 559, 75154). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 October 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
