Family:  Rhycheridae (Balrog frogfishes)
Max. size:  23 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 60 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: endemic to Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A temperate species found inshore on reefs (Ref. 7300) to at least a depth of 45 m (Ref. 9563). Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 57178.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 06 September 2021 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
