Max. size:  4.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Nam Xam basin in Laos and Red River basin in Viet Nam and Yunnan, China.
Diagnosis:  Cheek, nape and side with many large dark round spots; 0-4 predorsal scales; side spotted, without conspicuous bars (Ref. 43281); Pectoral fin rays modally 17; almost round dark spots on cheek as large as pupil size in male (Ref. 79602).
