Family:  Labridae (Wrasses), subfamily: Corinae
Max. size:  7.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 18 - 41 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: known only from the Marquesas Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13. Pelvic fins comparatively long (1.45 to 2 times in head length), in males extending posterior to origin of anal fin (Ref 9823).
Biology:  Found over open rubble and sand substrates.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 July 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
