Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudochrominae
Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 25 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Aldabra, Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A cryptic species, quick to take shelter. Found on offshore coral and rocky reefs from shallow depths down to about 25m (Ref. 68964). Has been reared in captivity (Ref. 35413).
